Wrought iron and/or steel scrap 6 mm and over in thickness. Individual pieces not over 1500 x 600 mm (charging box size) prepared in a manner to ensure compact charging.
HMS2 – No. 2 heavy melting steel (201-3)
Short sheared old iron and steel scrap, black and galvanised, with maximum size 300x300mm.
BLST – blue steel (238)
Clean steel scrap, not exceeding 300mm in any dimensions, including new factory bushelling (for example sheet clippings, stampings, etc.). May not include old auto body and fender stock. Free of metal coated, limed, vitreous enamelled, and electrical sheet containing over 0,5 percent silicon.
NEW BLACK – Sheet (207)
For direct charging, maximum size 2.5m x 500 mm, free of old automobile body and fender stock, metal coated, limed, vitreous enamelled, and electrical sheet containing over 0,5 percent silicon, must lay reasonably flat in the car.
NBB1 – No. 1 bundles (208)
New black steel sheet scrap, clippings or skeleton scrap, compressed or hand bundled, to charging box size and weighing not less than 1200 kg per cubic metre. (Hand bundles are tightly secured for handling with a magnet.) May include Stanley balls or mandrel wound bundles or skeleton reels, tightly secured. May include chemically detinned material. May not include old auto body or fender stock. Free of metal coated, limed vitreous enamelled, and electrical sheet containing over 0,5 percent silicon.
OBB1 – No. 2 bundles (205 / 209)
Old black and galvanised steel sheet scrap, hydraulically compressed to charging box size and weighing not less than 1200 kg per cubic metre. May not include tin or lead-coated material or vitreous enamelled material.
P&ST – Plate and structural scrap (236)
Clean open hearth steel plates, structural shapes, crop ends, shearings, or broken steel tires. Dimensions not less than 6 mm in thickness, not over 1000 mm in length and 500 mm in width. Phosphorus or sulphur not over 0,05%.
SHAV – MACHINE SHOP TURNINGS AND IRON BORINGS / SHAVINGS (220)
Clean steel or wrought iron turnings, free of non-ferrous metals or excessive oil.
CAST – MIXED CAST IRON (257)
May include all grades of cast iron except burnt iron. Dimensions not over 600 mm x 750 mm and no piece over 70 kg in weight.
LCI – LARGE BREAKABLE CAST IRON (254)
Cast iron scrap over charging box size or weighing more than 230 kg. May include cylinders and driving wheel centres. May include steel which does not exceed 10% of the casting by weight.
