Senior management share a common passion for motor sport, reflected in the FINE brand name appearing in a variety of regional and national events. Background (new para) Director brothers Mike and Jon Wilson grew up in a motor racing home, with father (big) John campaigning South African rally and sports car events during the 1960’s and both younger generation Wilsons enjoying successes in motocross and motorcycle track racing, during the 1980’s and 1990’s – the die was cast.

Pro Tour Altech GT Challenge

Fine Metals entered a leased Ferrari F-360 in selected events of the 2008 Pro-Tour Altech GT Challenge and subsequently purchased a Porsche 997 Cup racer, which has been successfully campaigned by the three directors in this exciting motorsport class during 2009 and 2010.

Offroad Motorcycle Racing

Directors Jon Wilson and Justin Mathie completed Lesotho’s “Roof of Africa Rally”, one of the world’s toughest offroad motorcycle races, in 2005 and 2006 and presently, area manager Adrian Werner is a front-runner in local WFO, hare scramble and national enduro events.

KZN Downhill Mountain Bike Series

Technical Manager Dean Henning is a leading contender in the KZN Downhill Mountain Bike Series, winning the sub-vet class in his debut 2010 season.
